What is bursting material TotK? ›

Bursting materials in Tears of the Kingdom are basically items you can use to create explosions! Super handy for clearing obstacles or dealing some serious damage to enemies. You'll find stuff like bomb barrels and explosive arrows that really add some boom to your adventures in Hyrule.

It's also among the rarest shields in the game, with one given during the Test of Wood shrine quest, one given in a chest, and an extra one in Master Mode; a third shield can be found inside a small crevice to the left of Chio prompted against a root of the Great Deku Tree alongside a Forest Dweller's Spear.

Gibdo Bone can be useful for significant attack power boost but is very fragile and breaks after a few attacks when fused to weapons.

Turn your back to Walton, then look at the wall to your left, behind the tree (see picture above). With both weapons in your pocket, return to Walton to hear about the Forest Dweller's Shield. Glide down to the Deku Tree's entrance, and you'll find the shield just above the doorway.

This 30-block shield is hidden just above the door to the Deku Tree's naval where the mushroom shop, inn, and Chasm are located. Pick up the shield and bring it back to Walton for Link's reward.

To speak to the Great Deku Tree, head up his branches to find a platform above to speak, and he'll recall a memory of the last time you spoke, right before your adventure in Tears of the Kingdom began.

Despite what Walton says, the forest dweller spear is arguably not "above the Deku Tree's face." It's actually located at the very top of the Deku Tree along the north-west ridge of his trunk, tucked away under the branch that sticks directly out from the water on the top of his head.

1 Silver Lynel Blade

One of the most overpowered combinations that players can create is by using the Royal Guard's Claymore from Hyrule Castle. Its base damage is 32, which doubles to 64 when it is badly damaged. In that state, it can be fused with the Silver Lynel Saber Horn to take the overall damage to 174.

1 Light Dragon Horn

Getting up to the Light Dragon can be tricky, but doing so is required to get the Master Sword anyway, so it's worth grabbing a Light Dragon Horn right away, as it's the coolest item to Fuse with the Master Sword in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Can you get the forest dweller's sword again in TotK? ›

If you can't find a pristine Forest Dweller's Sword, the decayed one from the sidequest does respawn, as well as the spear and shield.

Forest Dweller's Shields are Shields made by Koroks specifically for Hylians to use. This is common among Korok Gear, which includes all Weapons created by Koroks. They are only found in three locations in and around the Great Hyrule Forest, though an additional one can be found in a Treasure Chest at Floria Falls.

This shield was made with a very sturdy wood that only grows in the Korok Forest. This material makes it stronger than most shields out there.
