Science on a Sunday: Sparking Curiosity with Spherical DisplaysSpherical displays are not just captivating; they're educational powerhouses, especially for our young learners! A recent field study by the University of Florida USA observed that in multi-generational groups, children often gravitated towards spherical displays first, leading the way for parents or guardians. This phenomenon tells us something incredible: Spherical displays are a magnet for children's curiosity, making them the ideal choice for schools and informal educational settings.Educators, let's embrace the power of spherical displays to introduce children to exciting new learning adventures. Together, we're shaping the future, one inquisitive mind at a time.At Pufferfish, we're passionate about inspiring young minds, and our technology is designed to do just that. Rabun Gap's applied learning curriculum encourages students to learn from process. Students develop, test, and refine original ideas. Our ninth-grade biology students engaged in this dynamic design process last trimester, creating their own sampling devices to study biodiversity on our 1,400-acre campus. 🌳 Students designed and built their devices in the IDEA Lab, then went into the field to collect data that they will present later this year. Check out this video produced by Sophia Moore '24 that highlights the project!#leadthewayrgns #onecommunityrgns #boardingschool #innovate #appliedlearning

Our students get really creative in building projects that explore areas in math important for their grade! They built their own animals given specific area and perimeter measurements and constraints, working with decimal and fraction operations while using their problem-solving and critical-thinking skills!University of Maryland - The Graduate School Baltimore City Public Schools #mathematics #matheducation #mathematicseducation #projectbasedlearning #problemsolvingskills

When educators, or as I now think of them #transformationagents create learning environments that provide students the opportunity to make sense of their learning in a way that the world makes sense to them - remarkable things happen. This is achieved, in part, by providing #choice and opening #space for their #voice. It's about making learning deeply personal. Because when learning is personal it #matters. #inclusivity. Such is the case in #JenniferBancej's high school biology class. I have been following Jenn's work for over a year now, and been privileged that her students talk openly with me, often on video, about their learning experiences. For many, it has transformed how they think of themselves as learners and, in many cases, as people. This, in turn, has a deep impact on their #wellbeing. #profound. I will be sharing a lot about this remarkable classroom over the next while but thought I would start with Maake describing his concept map. The students create these maps rather than formal exams. Just one of the ways Jenn turns the learning environment #upsidedown. Does this make a difference to the students' learning. O yes. Take a listen to Maake. Over the next while I will be sharing many many more such videos giving understanding and insight not just from the student's perspective, but also parents', educators' and community. For now, I'm starting with the student perspective. If you'd like, you can see many of these here on my Youtube channel Cultivating Innovation https://lnkd.in/eQcHsaqbJenn and quite a few of her students and their parents will also be profiled as part of the human library at the Creativity as a Force of Social Transformation event here in Ottawa, April 19th and 20th. What an opportunity to hear from youngsters directly, and from parents about the impact this has more broadly on the family. We speak about the importance of #studentvoice. Let's be sure to listen when they have the courage to speak. And let's have the courage to make the necessary transformational shifts that are so desperately needed as we try to prepare these young people for an extraordinarily complex future. Register here for this remarkable event. https://lnkd.in/eFg-PRNHhttps://lnkd.in/efQ_Pz-t

Fun and Educational Science Camps! for School, Society, Corporates. Connect now 9769660064 or 8879818854Science camps are an innovative form of “edutainment” (entertainment + education). Combining fun with learning, each camp contains an educational theme that keeps children engaged from day to day. One new theme is learned each day, and all activities are related to this theme, therefore children stay focused on one subject matter, solidifying the concept.#ScienceWorkshop#STEMWorkshop#ScienceForAll#STEMEducation#LearnScience#ScienceCommunity#HandsOnScience#ScienceFun#ScienceExploration#ScienceExperiments#ScienceLearning#ScienceDiscovery#ScienceTeachers#KidsInScience#FutureScientists#ScienceActivities#ScienceOutreach#EngageInScience#ScienceEvents#InnovativeScience
