No matter your reasons, untangle yourself and take a seat. These are the best slip-ons for women, chosen for their versatility, comfort, durability and overall aesthetics. How We Chose the Best Slip-On Sneakers
“Fit and comfort should be the most important factors,” says Dr. Chiunda. With that as our North star, we researched top-reviewed slip-on sneakers and cross-checked them for mentions of how comfy and supportive they were. We also looked at how well reviewers said they held up over time and tried to ensure our roundup included a mix of price points and styles.

Vans
Look, it just doesn’t get better than a classic pair of Vans. The OG cool-kid shoe has sturdy rubber outsoles, comfy canvas uppers and a grippy-but relaxed feel. Sizes range from women’s 5 to 13.5 (bonus points for half sizes!) with tons of color choices and new designs dropping on the reg.
As a loyal Vans shopper, I can confirm that the elastic side accents make the shoes easy to slip on and off without fear that you’ll lose a sneaker mid-walk. I also love to travel in these. They are supportive and comfortable when exploring new cities, plus they won’t make your feet lose circulation during hours-long flights or car rides. if you plan on walking long distances, you might want to add an extra insole for additional support, but otherwise you can consider this a do-it-all, goes-with-anything sneaker.

Nobull
The secret gym girlies already know: Nobulls are pretty much the gold standard shoe in the weightlifting community. And now, they’ve created a comfy slip-on meant for those everyday workouts—and by that we mean brunching, lunching, running errands and taking hot girl walks.
The highlights of these beauties are the cloth upper that form-fits to your foot and the cute color options that range from neutral gray to baby blue and hot pink. Also, they are light as a feather. After two weeks of testing, I’ve made them my official Sunday Funday shoe. They’re comfy, but secure and add a touch of Sporty Spice to casual errand outfits.
The only downside? The price. For those who worship at the altar of Nobull, it shouldn’t phase you, but for Nobull newbies $149 probably feels like a lot to drop on a weekend shoe.

What's the Best Overall Slip-On Sneaker?
In terms of comfort, ease of slipping them on and off, and overall aesthetics, I have to give it to Vans. The checkerboard style is iconic, but there are so many other styles and designs to choose from to suite your taste. Plus, it’s hard to argue with the $55 price point, and I love how the stretchy accents ensure a snug fit that’s still a breeze to slide on and off.
What to Look for in Slip-On Sneakers
When you start shopping for the perfect pair of slip-on sneakers, Dr. Sutera has a few suggestions for what to look for and what to avoid. “Look for not only a comfortablesneaker but also one that offers support,” she tells me. “The sole should allownatural motion and not be too stiff or too flimsy. Slip-on sneakers should have a cushioned sole with arch support.” Want an extra tip? “Test the shoe by bending and twisting it.The forefoot shouldbend to allow flexibility while walking but you should not be able to completely twist the shoe (the motion looks like you're wringing out a wet towel),” she says.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which brand of sneakers is good for your feet?
Both Dr. Schaeffer and Dr. Sutera agree that Vionic, Skechers and Hoka are all fantastic brands to shop for slip-on sneakers and regular sneakers alike. They focus on supportive and sturdy shoes to ensure your feet are going to stay comfortable and not hurt after wearing them.
Are slip-on shoes good for your feet?
If you’re looking for the most optimal support your feet, no, slip-ons aren’t the number one style you should be considering. But sometimes, convenience is necessary, and as long as you’re taking into consideration qualities like a cushioned insole, sole construction and a sturdy heel, you’ll find a good fit for your feet. “The biggest design flaw [of slip-on sneakers] is that the heel counter, which is the back part of the shoe, is too flimsy, and then your heel falls out and the slip-on sneakers become a hazard,” says Dr. Schaeffer. “Also, slip-on sneakers don't necessarily have the best insoles in them, so that's why I really recommend putting aDr. Scholl’sinsolein there, like their new24-Hour Energy Multipurpose Insoles, which are game changers. They're designed to provide more support and energy return with theirBoostingBeadstechnology, which I love.”
If you have particular foot concerns, such as plantar fasciitis or high arches, chat with a podiatrist to find the best slip-ons for your needs.
What are the most comfortable slip-on sneakers?
Honestly, that depends on you. Podiatrists generally recommend that the most comfortable slip-ons prioritize soft, breathable fabrics, sturdy arch support and cushion.
Should slip-on sneakers be tight or loose?
Slip-ons should be snug, but not too tight, says Dr. Chiunda. When you try them on, shoes should stay firmly on while walking without pinching your toes or causing pain. Look for options with a little breathing room to accommodate foot swelling that can happen when feet get warm. You should also prioritize stretchy materials that form to your foot. Lastly, check for stability in the sole. To do this, hold the shoe at the widest part of the front with your other hand on the heel, says Dr. Chiunda. Then twist the shoe. If it twists easily, put it back. You want one that resists the twist and protects your foot when walking.
